The San Marcos Chamber of Commerce houses several hard-working, community-oriented committees. Each committee meets once a month to discuss its operations and the issues that affect the chamber and the San Marcos community. These committees are a great way to become active in the Chamber and to gain exposure for you and your business. Ambassador Committee

Mission: To conduct ongoing public relations programs and enhance the image of the Chamber to the membership and community.
Meets the third Thursday of the month at 8:00 AM

Budget & Finance Committee
Chaired by Bill Wood
Mission: Prepare, supervise, and evaluate annual budget and financial data. Ensure the long-term financial stability of the Chamber.
Meets the first Tuesday of the month at 8:00 AM

Business and Membership Development
Chaired by Tim Williams
Mission: To use Chamber resources and expertise to assist in both business retention and recruitment efforts and to maintain a healthy business environment while balancing economic development with quality of life.
Meets the first Thursday of the month at 8:00 AM

Education Committee
Chaired by Ric White
San Marcos Unified School District
Mission: To improve the quality of the workforce by establishing productive partnerships among business, government, and education at all levels.
Meets the third Wednesday of the month at 3:30 PM (as needed-contact Chamber office for more information)

Government Affairs Committee

Mission: To represent the business community at all levels of government in an effective, timely fashion and to provide a communications link between business and government.
Meets the first Wednesday of the month at 8:00 AM

Communications Committee
Chaired by Kirk Effinger
Mission: To promote and facilitate open communications with chamber members and the community at large.
Meets the second Wednesday of the month at 8:00 AM (as needed-contact Chamber office for more information)

Special Events Committee (part of the Ambassador Committee)
Mission: To offer cost effective, creative and visible events for members, business, community and others.
Meets the third Thursday of the month directly after the Ambassador meeting (approx 8:30 am)
