After completing significant pavement rehabilitation throughout the City this summer, motorists traveling through San Marcos can expect to see crews working along Rancho Santa Fe Road beginning mid-November as part of an extensive pavement makeover.
“We appreciate continued patience from motorists, businesses and schools during these important roadway repairs,” said City Manager Jack Griffin. “The temporary inconvenience paves the way for lasting improvements to traffic safety that we know is a priority for residents."
The $3 million facelift of Rancho Santa Fe Road from State Route 78 to Lakeridge Drive to restore the roadway and extend the life of the driving surfaces is expected to be finished by early spring 2017.
Some portions of the roadway will require pavement removal and replacement, while other segments will need surface grinding prior to the final pavement overlay.
Residents and businesses directly affected by the street restoration will receive notice of scheduled work. Most road repair work will take place during daytime hours and traffic delays are anticipated.
During construction, businesses will remain open and street restoration work will be coordinated to minimize obstruction to shopping center access.
