has become San Marcos’ “go to” restaurant not only for lunch and dinner, but also for Brunch every Sunday. Family recipes made with local fresh local products keep foodies returning again and again.
The restaurant is noted for their fun and affordable Happy Hour, available Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 PM and live music on Friday evenings at 7 PM is always a draw.
Getting its start in Escondido under the direction of Jose Monforte, the family of Jose and Norma Monforte, and their three sons, Story, Fernando and Erik, have been serving traditional Mexican dishes since 1978. The Escondido restaurant is now managed by Fernando Monforte.
In September 2007 the family expanded the operation to include the San Marcos restaurant, run by Erik Monforte. Both the Escondido and San Marcos locations offer varied banquet and catering options.
The family-owned operation is currently building a third restaurant in Rancho Bernardo, which is slated to open in early 2016.
