Brown Family Chem-Dry has been proudly serving the San Marcos community for the past three years. As a family-owned and operated business, they specialize in residential, commercial, and government carpet cleaning, offering a wide range of services. Motivated by a deep sense of community, they joined The San Marcos Chamber of Commerce. Beyond networking opportunities, the Chamber has become a vital platform for their business growth and exposure.

What does your business do? Brown Family Chem-Dry offers residential, commercial, and government carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning including leather cleaning and protecting, tile/stone/grout cleaning and sealing, granite renewal, and all floor cleaning services to include LVT, LVP, Wood, and VCT.

What sets you apart from others in your industry?

  • Brown Family Chem-Dry is committed to giving back to the community; we have various programs that offer 10% of all services to the organization of choice with no limitations.
  • We guarantee our work.
  • We let our clients speak for us with over 100 5-star reviews.
  • We are truly family-owned and operated with mom being responsible for administration and business development, dad is responsible for operations and equipment maintenance, and our sons are the technicians.

What question are you asked most frequently by clients? What is the difference between the Chem-Dry process and Zerorez or Stanley Steemer?

What is your favorite business success story? Although there are only 1 or 2; our favorite business success stories derive from unsatisfied clients. We believe success is not based solely on satisfied clients but on how a company handles unsatisfied clients. Over a year ago, we serviced a client’s upholstery.  Unfortunately, the fabric, even though we tested, was highly sensitive. We ended up damaging the piece. Since the piece was a family heirloom, we, of course, felt terrible. To make this situation better, we paid to have the piece reupholstered. We even referred the client to an upholstery service we have used personally. Since then, the client has called us back to service their flooring, carpeting, and even other upholstery.

What motivated you to join The San Marcos Chamber? Our focus in our business is our community; being a San Marcos-based business, we wanted to get engrained as much as possible with the San Marcos community…What better way than joining the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce?  Since joining the San Marcos Chamber, we have been provided with many opportunities to network with other businesses and although we don’t take advantage of the resources available as much as we should, the business, clients, and exposure that the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce has provided us far exceeds the membership dues.  We will forever be members of the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce and hope to fully utilize the resources provided.

As someone doing business in San Marcos, what are you looking forward to accomplishing with the Chamber? Our #1 goal: Name Recognition; we aspire to have all chamber members and our San Marcos community think/remember Brown Family Chem-Dry whenever they or someone they know has a need for our services.

What's your best piece of business advice? Watch your financials: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement…the numbers don’t lie, AND be frugal even when sales are good.
